Shipping your isolate and distillate may seem risky. Use the following tips to get your product from point A to point B without incident and use our airtight stash containers to help you do just that!

Know the Legality of What You’re Shipping

In general, isolates and distillates are acceptable to ship, but it’s important to make sure that you’re within the legal limits.

Recently, the USPS made it legal to ship CBD products. While it is legal to do so, you will still need to follow some specific guidelines. According to the Publication 52: New Mailability Policy for Cannabis and Hemp-Related Products,

Hemp and hemp-based products, including cannabidiol (CBD) with the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentration of such hemp (or its derivatives) not exceeding a 0.3 percent limit are permitted to be mailed only when:

  1. The mailer complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws (such as the Agricultural Act of 2014 and the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018) pertaining to hemp production, processing, distribution, and sales; and
  2. The mailer retains records establishing compliance with such laws, including laboratory test results, licenses, or compliance reports, for no less than two years after the date of mailing.”

Those guidelines explain that hemp-based products must be manufactured in accordance with state and federal laws prior to shipping. Also, the entity responsible for mailing the product is responsible for any legal obligations on their end. Of course, it’s important to note that CBD and hemp products can only be shipped if they are under the 0.3% THC level.

Perhaps one of the most important things you’ll need to know before learning how to ship isolate and distillate is how to properly ship any product. Focus first on the legal requirements but then, make the effort to ensure you protect your product in an efficient and effective way.

Protect Your Cargo

When it comes to protecting your isolate and distillate during transport it’s critical to use an airtight container. EVault or CVault airtight stash containers, in combination with zip ties for the latches, provide the best method and security when it comes to transporting your valuable products.

Of course, before you place your isolate or distillate in the hands of the postal service, even in one of our containers, we recommend extra steps to ensure that the product is protected. The best way to do this is to include plenty of packing materials around your container. Whether you use old newspapers or choose a more traditional route such as packing peanuts is a personal preference. Just make sure that you’ve included something to keep that airtight container from moving around in the box while it’s en route.

Ensure Proper Packaging

Even if it’s legal to ship your product, you may want to take steps to avoid having a package that looks suspicious or ends up back on your doorstep due to oversight. Use one of the USPS approved shipping boxes or even choose a priority box right from your local post office. Add an appropriate amount of packing tape and double-check to make sure that the destination address is easy to read. When your package looks just like every other package on the truck, the risk of theft decreases as well!

Eliminate any Conspicuous Odors

While you may appreciate the aroma that seeps out from your package, it’s likely to create a stir among postal service workers. Whatever you do, make sure to put your products in an airtight and smell proof container. When you use a CVault or EVault container, you don’t have to worry about double boxing your product or using additional scents to evade detection. Simply pack your products in the container, add your supportive packing materials, and send your product on its way.

We might be a little biased but, honestly, you can’t beat the convenience (or the price) of an EVault or CVault. Head over to the FreshStor shop and grab your airtight storage container today!
